Getting started, FAQ, and how to reach us.

Getting started

  1. Tap + Walk from your Logbook — the home screen of the app.
  2. Choose the geotagged photos from your walk.
  3. Wander sorts them by capture time and draws a walking route between them.
  4. Tap a numbered pin to see its photo, or press play to replay your route.

Past walks are saved automatically to your Logbook, where you can sort them into folders, search by name, place, or date, and tap any walk to revisit it. The Logbook syncs privately across your iPhone and iPad through your own iCloud.

Frequently asked questions

Why didn't a route appear?

Wander needs at least two photos that have both a date and a GPS location. Photos without location data are skipped.

Some of my photos are missing.

Photos without embedded GPS coordinates can't be placed on the map, so they're left out. Most phone cameras add location automatically when location access is enabled for the camera.

Why doesn't my route exactly match where I walked?

Two things shape the line Wander draws. First, photo locations come from your phone's GPS, which is an estimate — it can land on the wrong side of a street, drift between tall buildings, or be off by a block, especially indoors or in cities. Second, Wander connects your photos along real walkable streets and paths using Apple Maps walking directions, so the line is its best guess of how you got from one stop to the next, not a recording of your exact path. Your photos still mark where you were — the connecting line is an approximation.

Can I fix a walk after it's saved?

Yes. Open the walk, tap the numbered pin for the stop you want to drop, and tap Remove Stop. Wander rebuilds the route around it — no need to re-import. Renaming a walk is just as easy: tap its name to edit it.

How do I organize my walks?

Your Logbook keeps every walk automatically. Tap New Folder to make a folder — give it its own color and symbol — then drag walks into it and drag folders to reorder. You can also search by name, place, or date to jump straight to a walk.

My saved walk's photo thumbnails look rotated.

This was a bug in an early version of Wander; photos imported now save correctly. To fix an older walk, delete it from the Logbook and re-import the same photos.

Do you collect my photos or location?

No. Wander has no account and sends none of your data to us. Your saved walks sync only through your own private iCloud — never to our servers. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Can I use Wander on my iPad?

Yes. As of 1.4, Wander is a universal app that runs on both iPhone and iPad, and your Logbook syncs privately across your devices through your own iCloud.
